1. How do I register for this programme?

An applicant desirous of applying to the PGDM programme at IMI-Kolkata, he/she will be required to pay Rs. 1000/- by clicking on the “Apply Now” button under IMI Kolkata Campus option provided at http://admission.imi.edu

2. Is this programmes approved by AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education)?

Yes, the PGDM programme of IMI-Kolkata is approved by AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education).

3. Have PGDM received equivalence to MBA from AIU (Association of Indian Universities)

The PGDM programme, is equivalent to MBA from AIU (Association of Indian Universities).

4. What accreditation PGDM programmme has?

The PGDM Programme is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) for two years effective from July 2017.

5. What is the ranking of IMI‐Kolkata?

IMI-Kolkata has been ranked 75th among Business Schools in India by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India in 2018.

6. Is IMI Kolkata accepts direct admission?

No, IMI Kolkata accepts only CAT, XAT and GMAT exams for application

7. Are there any Scholarships provided to the students?

Yes, IMI-Kolkata offers scholarships up to 100% to the selected students based on academic performance and financial considerations on completion of the 1st year of their PGDM programme. Students with a minimum of 80% in Class X, XII and 1st class throughout their academic career along with a score of more than 90 percentile in CAT/XAT or more than 650 in GMAT relevant to the current year will be eligible to apply for the same. 8. What is the Faculty‐Student ratio at the Institute?

IMI-Kolkata maintains a healthy Faculty-Student ratio of 1:12; the faculty members are doctorates from premier academic institutes from India as well as abroad. They also have enhanced industrial exposure to ensure that the learning is never outdated. However, the accent is not on current trends alone, ensuring that the classical theories on management are part of the students’ learning base. Seventeen fulltime faculty members form the core team. They are complemented by visiting and guest faculty members from industries across all sectors.

9. Will the Applicants be allowed to change the center?

No. The Applicants are not allowed to change the center. However, in some exceptional/stated conditions the change can be permitted.

10. Is the placement assistance provided?

Yes, placement assistance is provided to the students. A full-fledged External Relations Department helps in the placement of the students. Also, there exists a Placement Committee of students for driving the placement process. IMI-Kolkata’s placement record has been 100% since its inception.

11. Is there any Induction Programme for the students?

Yes, IMI Kolkata conducts one week Induction programme.

12. How can the payment be made for Application form?

The admission fee can be paid through Credit Card/Debit Card/Bank Transfer through the designated payment gateway. Applicants are advised not to send to IMI Admissions Office the online receipts generated through the process.

13. How many students share a room?

At IMI Kolkata all rooms in hostel are available on single and twin sharing basis.

14. Is hostel mandatory at IMIK?

No, as of now hostel is not mandatory.

15. Are the rooms Air‐Conditioned?

At IMI Kolkata there is provision of both Non AC and AC hostel rooms, charges are varies according to the type of room.

16. Who provides support for Summer Internship Programme (SIP)?

On completion of 1st year, students are required to gain hands-on experience in the application of core concepts and functional skills. This practice of ‘Learning by Doing’ helps the students relate to the rigour of theory in the world of business. The students work on projects as per the specification of the company. At the end of eight to ten weeks of such a closely guided project, under the supervision of the company executive(s), they submit a report to the company and the Institute. The concerned company executives normally provide feedback to the Programme Director on the student’s performance. Successful completion of Summer Internship is an essential requirement for the award of the IMI Diploma.

17. Do we have student exchange programme?

IMI Kolkata has collaborated with various renowned institutes/universities on the global front. Knowledge sharing is of utmost importance in this dynamic world and collaborative research assists in addressing and solving regional and global issues. The partnerships encompass areas of mutual benefit and interest in terms of research projects, joint conferences/seminars/workshops, joint publications, consultancy projects, and exchange programme for students and faculty members.
