This programme conducted during September 19-20, 2011 was designed to enable senior executives of Vodafone (Sales and Marketing Heads) develop perspectives in selected aspects of retail management so as to achieve competitive advantage through superior resource management in uncertain business environments. The programme venue was Hotel Courtyard Marriott, Mumbai. The programme content focused on Concepts & Determinants of Mobile Telecommunication Retailing, Strategic Resource Management, Retail Resource Productivity Concepts & Measurements, Managing data for business opportunities, Strategic Customer Analysis, Strategic Market Planning, Research & Implementation in Vodafone. Programme Advisor: Prof. Mohua Banerjee. Resource Persons: Prof. Asish K. Bhattacharyya, Prof. Himadri Roy Chaudhuri, Prof. Indranil De, Dr. Richard Cuthbertson, Research Director, Oxford Institute of Retail Management, Dr. Malobi Kar, Research Fellow, Oxford Institute of Retail Management. IMI-K conducted a capability-enhancing training programme for Vodafone Essar Limited during December 15-16, 2010. The 22 participants were Store-in-Charges of Vodafone stores located in Kolkata and the suburbs. The focus of the Workshop was to sharpen their managerial skills, which would enable them to deal effectively with the changing environment of telecom industry. The pedagogy involved role playing, team activities, experience sharing, visuals and lectures. The programme content focused on Introduction to Retail Management, Selling skills, Customer service, Leadership skills, Effective communication and Emotional Intelligence.
